Each Apolina piece has been produced ethically and with great care in India.Apolina, embroideryWith a focus on highlighting traditional Indian craftsmanship, Apolina works with one family-run Indian manufacturer. Working with a sole factory is rare in this industry (most brands use a variety of manufacturers/vendors).  This allows us to build strong relationships, to reduce our waste fabric, and gives us easier transparency.Apolina, kids, embroideryOur factory in India is more of a partner. As well as a strong, mutually beneficial business relationship, the foundation for this partnership is a friendship and mutual respect.

Our factory works hard to employ equal numbers of women and men (which is unusual in the Indian garment industry). Ethical trading and production practices are strictly adhered to and workers are not only paid a fair living wage, they are also treated as members of the extended family. This is evident in the mood on the factory floor and in the many long term team members.Apolina styles are produced in limited numbers through 'small batch' production. Most of our styles involve hand work and this takes time, care and skill. It isn’t our aim to grow the production to a huge scale, we like to keep our growth steady and sustainable. We take great care analysing our sales reactions, ordering carefully without too much risk of over production and we take extreme care to only select a small group of likeminded stockists who can really enhance the customer experience and stay true to our values.Apolina, embroidery
